Julie Richoz - INTERVIEW Vol.1
Julie Richozは、1990年生まれのスイス系フランス人のデザイナー。
パリにデザインスタジオを構え、オブジェや家具、照明、テキスタイルだけでなく、アートピースの製作等、ユニークな作品から工業的な規模まで、幅広く活躍しています。
インタビューを通して、彼女の考えと、そこから表現される作品について、お話いただきました。
インタビュー動画では、E&Yから発表したコレクション「GINKGO」について、深く説明いただいております。
デザインや職人技に興味を持ったきっかけ、影響を受けた人物や文献はありますか。
創作への意欲は常に私の中にありました。 子供の頃、印象派の画家（モネなど）の作品に出会い、それが大人になった時の夢として描いていました。（印象派の画家になりたかったのですが、今振り返るとかなり笑ってしまいますが、、）。
その後、10代の頃にデザイナーという職業に出会い、直感的に自分が進むべき道だと感じました。
それ以来、多くのクリエイターたちが私の活動に影響を与え、成長を助けてくれました。
南フランスのコート・ダジュールにあるアイリーン・グレイのE-1027邸を訪れる機会がありました。
家具やオブジェのデザインに対する彼女のアプローチには、創意工夫や独創性、時にはユーモアさえも感じられ、とても魅了されます。
彼女の作品に命を吹き込むソリューションの独自性からは、多くのことを学ぶことができ、そんな彼女の作品に非常に感銘を受けました。
休日の1日の過ごし方や、お気に入りの場所、空間などはありますか。
私の自宅だと思います。
ほんの数日の旅行でも、私はいつも快適な我が家に戻るのを楽しみにしています。
パリと東京には、コンパクトな居住空間が多いという共通点がありますが、私にとっては十分に休むことができ、読書や料理をしたり、友人を招いたりできる心地よい場所です。
日常の中で、最近目に留まったものや惹かれたものなどを写真と共に紹介いただきたいです。
1. この美しい木箱は、私が最近ワークショップを行ったモントリオールのデザイン学校、UQAMで出会ったものです。
2. バルコニーの植物を入れ替える土の袋でさえも（ほぼ）あらゆるものを自転車で運べることに感動しました。
3. 春の光は、何気ない日用品を通じて美しい影の形を生み出します。

Julie Richoz - INTERVIEW Vol.1
Julie Richoz is a Swiss-French designer born in 1990.
She has a design studio in Paris, where she works not only with objects, furniture, lighting and textiles, but also with art pieces, ranging from unique pieces to industrial scale.
Through an interview, we spoke to her about her ideas and the works expressed.
In the video interview, he explains in depth about the "GINKGO" collection presented by E&Y.
What made you interested in design and craftsmanship, and who or what people or literature influenced you?
The desire to create has always been present in me. When I were still a child, I discover the works of impressionist painters (like Monet) and that is what I picture as a dream job adult (I wanted to be an impressionist painter - quite funny to remember this) Later on, I discovered the profession of designer during my teenage years and instinctively knew it was the path I would follow.
Since then, many creators have influenced and nourished my practice.
I had the chance to visit the E-1027 house by Eileen Gray, a complete architectural and interior project located on the Côte d’Azur in the south of France.
Her approach to furniture and object design fascinates me—full of ingenuity, inventiveness, and sometimes even humor. I totally admire her work.
There’s so much to learn from the uniqueness of the solutions she brings to life in her creations.
Do you have a favourite place or space where you spend your day off?
I would say it’s my apartment.
ven when I travel for just a few days, I always look forward to returning to the comfort of home.
It’s not a spectacular place, it’s not very big—Paris and Tokyo seem to share this trait of offering mostly compact living spaces—but it’s a place where I can fully rest, read, cook, and invite friends over.
We would like you to introduce something in your daily life that has caught your eye or attracted you recently, together with a photograph.
1. These beautiful wooden boxes I came across at UQAM—the design school in Montreal—where I recently gave a workshop.
2. I’m impressed by how (almost) everything can be transported by bike—even bags of soil for balcony plants.
3. The spring light, and how it creates beautiful shadow shapes through random everyday objects.
