このハート型のオブジェクトのはじまりは、中山の親しい建築家ら主催による東日本大震災被災地支援チャリティバザー のために、事務所にあった材料だけで即興的に制作されたものでした。
そこから多くの時間が経っています。
強い建築や街を作るために使われるコンクリートですが、私たちひとりひとりのハートよりも強い材料など存在しないよね、 というあの震災時の気持ちはそのままに、当時よりも少しだけ柔らかい質感と表情で作りました。 本棚の端や扉の角や、そして自分自身のハートに、日々の暮らしのなかでちょっとした「重し」が欲しいときに。

The beginning of this heart shaped object, was when Nakayama was approached from a fellow architect to participate in a charity to aid the damages from the Great East Japan Earth Quake.At that time this object was made from improvising with the materials that he found in his office.
A long time has passed since then.
Concrete is used to make strong buildings and cities,but when the earth quake hit us, I had this feeling where I though there is nothing else in the world that is stronger than our hearts.Keeping this same feeling, this object was remade with a slightly softer touch and expression.
Maybe use it as a bookend or a door stopper, or even for your own heart.
It's something that can be used in your daily life when you need a little bit of "weight" to keep things where they are.
